Burnout syndrome and the frequency of sports injuries in peruvian soccer players

Las lesiones deportivas son un riesgo habitual en los futbolistas. La lesión y el periodo de recuperación pueden causar la pérdida de actividad en competencias. En el sexo masculino las contusiones son más frecuentes que en el sexo femenino, presentándose una mayor cantidad de lesiones en miembros inferiores, sobre todo en ligamentos y músculos (1). El desarrollo de estas lesiones trae como consecuencia falta de motivación, sentimientos de preocupación, y generación de cuestionamientos sobre el retorno a la participación deportiva debido al riesgo de volver a lesionarse y el miedo a no alcanzar el estado físico previo a la lesión. Esto a su vez provoca alteraciones del sueño, problemas de estudio y autoculpa. Por lo descrito, la práctica del deporte en la alta competencia podría provocar en el deportista desgaste profesional y síndrome de burnout, que puede ser evaluado mediante escalas de agotamiento, desperso-nalización y logro personal (2). Además, el burnout se caracteriza porque puede aparecer sin antecedentes de psicopatología debido a que su principal causa es el estrés.
