El involucramiento de los miembros de la comunidad (a través de los trabajadores comunitarios de la salud) en el desarrollo de las investigaciones en salud se ha realizado para comprender mejor el contexto de la comunidad. Su participación permite la incorporación de las enseñanzas socioculturales de la comunidad en el desarrollo de las investigaciones e implementación de las intervenciones.
