Abstract

The purpose of this study is to collect information on social and emotional skills considered as a key factor to improve the performance of teachers in university institutions. The methodology used was based on reviewing the literature stored in databases such as Scopus and Science Direct. 18 original articles were selected that showed results related to how the application of social and emotional skills becomes a strategic tool to improve the work performance of employees. In addition, since these skills facilitate social interaction, they create a work environment that positively influences the performance of university professors; motivating and committing them to your institution. Ultimately, these skills make a significant difference between two people who might even have received the same professional training.
