Agriculture in Peru and in general in Latin America, has been going through a structural crisis. There are various factors involved in this problem. The objective of this study is a review of the concepts related to precision agriculture, the existing technologies applied to agriculture, and the implications of their implementation in the Peruvian agricultural sector. The existing relationship between science and technology as transforming factors in agriculture is explored. The combination of scientific knowledge and the incorporation of new technologies and innovation shows us that there is an agriculture that is more in line with the challenges we face: precision agriculture.
