Abstract

In modeling geometric represented by computer, the segments of curves that define the object must be handled with the mouse of trivial and natural form in order to obtain wished details of the geometry of the contour of the shaped object. This purpose requires of various operations: deformations of segments with size and wished degrees, control of auto-interference between not adjacent segments of the same object, and simplicity of the operation without wrapping complex parameters that they need dominions of other areas as the physics. In this paper, we propose a methodology based on the deformation multiresolutions of direct manipulation to control the desired size of the segments to be deformed, we control the self-interference through detection of collisions using oriented boxes that these ones reconstruct dynamically during deformation process without coming in physical models. We validate the proposed method trough manipulating flat objects defined by cubic S-spline curves.
