Abstract

The work that is presented in this article has being developed in the area of The Digital lmage Pro- cessing. Especially, a bibliographical reviéw of the watershed algorithm is done, which is a technolo- gy of segmentation based on morphology that allows to find regions of an image. It is a flexible and efficient technology for segmentation of images, to be recommended for images with homogeneous textures and with gradient of intensily weak. It is widely used in processing of medical images, in particular, it is an efficient technology for the analysis of spots of proteins in images ofelectroforesis in gels of two dimensions (2 -DE).
