Peer Review Policy

  1. The manuscripts received will be evaluated and qualified in the first instance by the Editorial Committee, who will review compliance with the guidelines for the submission of papers (editorial policies and guidelines for authors) and will verify the originality of the manuscript using the Turnitin software.
  2. After the acceptance of the work by the Editorial Committee, the manuscript will be assigned to one of the editors, who will oversee conducting the process, sending the work to referees (peer review). The peer reviewers are selected for their expertise and knowledge about the work to be evaluated. The reviewer will evaluate the work according to international standards and criteria of quality, creativity, originality, and contribution to knowledge.
  3. The reviewers will have the following characteristics:
    1. knowledge of the subject
    2. be external to Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos
    3. be recognized as a researcher and academic
    4. be researcher with responsibility and discretion in the evaluation
    5. Selected reviewers are not paid.
  4. The type of review is double blind; in other words, the reviewer remains anonymous to the author, and the names of the authors will not be revealed to the peer reviewers.
  5. The evaluation of the referees considers the following qualifiers:
    1. Manuscript acceptable for publication without modifications
    2. Manuscript acceptable for publication with minor changes
    3. Manuscript acceptable for publication with major changes and later revision.
    4. Manuscript rejected for publication
  6. The referees must justify the grade assigned to the work they reviewed, however, the decision to accept the manuscript for publication will be made by the Journal's Editorial Committee.
  7. The work has the status of ACCEPTED when it has passed the review process and the author has made all the corrections and modifications indicated. The accepted work is sent to correction of style and layout. The diagrammed version (galleys proof) will be sent to the author to be reviewed and returned with a LETTER OF CONFORMITY and permission for its publication, in absent of this letter the work not be published. When the General Editor has all the documentation that will allow him to publish the work, then the work is considered PRESS ARTICLE.
  8. The magazine reserves the right to apply any style modifications it deems necessary; this is prior to the LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE.
