The success of endodontic treatment is closely related to root canal filling. Canal shapping together with a three-dimensional obturation of the root canal system provides the apical seal. In this study the seal quality at the apical third of three techniques: the modified Mc Spadden vertical condensation, thermo plasticized Beefill 2in1 and conventional lateral condensation, were evaluated by means of apical leakage of ink and the number of voids presented in the interfase tooth-filling. were selected 90 monorradicular human teeth of a single canal. Cut to a standard size of 14 mm and mechanically and chemically prepared with Mtwo rotating system. The specimens were randomly divided into three experimental groups (n=30), that were sealed in accordance with techniques proposed, having six teeth as a control group. The specimens were held immersed in black ink for 72 hours at 37°C, after which they were centrifuged and subjected to a process of diaphanisation to be subsequently assessing the presence of voids and the apical ink filtration. Data were analyzed using the non parametric Kruskal Wallis test.Downloads
