This article proposes a transition plan from the IPv4 protocol to the IPv4 protocol to the IPv6 protocol for its implementation on a university campus. It exposes about the factors and considerations for the deployment of the IPv6 protocol that constitutes an environment that stimulates the transition. In addition, a simulation of a network scenario where the Dual Stack transition mechanism is implemented is presented to carry out a comparative analysis between the IPv4 protocol and the IPv6 protocol with respect to latency.
