Analysis of Envelope Tension in a Line Structure of Transmission Due to Beam Downloads

The analysis of the over tensions caused by wave the lightning currents on transmission line (TL), it allows to evaluate the existing methods to improve the design and to obtain an effective response of the isolation of the structures or towers of transmission, to the electromagnetic events of short duration and dissipation of great quantity of energy. The tension, capacity and tracing route are determinant for the design of the TL; however, the shielding and the grounding suitable are important to the transitory chances the lightning currents. In this work it has been considered to the basic criterion for the control of the level isolation, through the parameters of the components of grounding as the material, geometry of the structure, guard's screening cable, grounding and / or lightning rod. Later the analyses have been effected the over tensions transitory by lightning strike, for it has been selected the suitable models of elements the grounding and by means of simulations with the use the ATP, for a TL 138 kV located in Ancash's ridge of mountains; it have been calculated the over tensions, checking the level of the isolation of the TL to impulses of lightning, under the conditions of the grounding system pre-established.Downloads
