The Satureja pulchella “panizara” is an aromatic native species of Peru, according to information etnofarmacológicos is used by it to solve gastrointestinal problems and of the respiratory tract. With the aim to characterize the parameters physicist - chemist, antirust activity and the sharp toxicity of the essential oil of S. pulchella, we realize the present work. The obtaining of the essential oil was for the method of dragging with water steam; the yield decided for gravimetría-volumétrico; density, for picnometría; and index of refraction, for refractometría. The antirust activity decided for the method of the radical DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-picrilhidrazilo) and the sharp toxicity for the method of Dose Limit. Bringing a yield 1,5 % v/p; density 0,98 g/mL; index of refraction 1,494; the antirust activity is very near to the behavior of the trolox, presenting a concentration happens (IC50) of 7,675 µl/mL, opposite to the trolox, 6,48 µg/mL; the lethal average dose (DL50) is 777,19 mg/kg. The results indicate that the essential oil of S. pulchella possesses antirust activity and a light sharp toxicity, the above mentioned activities owe to the chemical structure of the essential oil that it possesses.Downloads
