In this interview with Professor José Osejo, a physical geographer, his professional training, his choice of Geography career and his experience as a student at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos are discussed. Osejo recounts his interest in Geography and how he discovered the degree through his brother-in-law, who was a History and Geography professor and a Geology student. He also mentions his participation in the curricular transformation of the Geography major and his subsequent performance as a professional in the National Office for the Evaluation of National Resources (ONERN).
In addition, Professor Osejo reflects on the definition of Geography, highlighting its integral nature and its capacity for specialization in various areas such as Physical Geography, Urban Geography, Economic Geography, among others. He also comments on the growth of Geography as a discipline, encompassing different fields of study and generating new specialties.
