Abstract

This work addresses the sacrificial myths of modernity built by Western society throughout its history to define itself as the ideal, the best and the superior as they are: the myths of sacrifice, the savage and abundance. Historically, these myths have been imposed in the various territories to inferiorize, fragment and destroy the geographies of many peoples in Latin America / Abya Yala. The purpose of this essay is to understand the intertwining of myths with modern reason, taking as an axis of reflection large-scale mining-extractivism. Thus, we reveal the importance of these myths and their role in modern / modernized societies to remove them from our bodies and territories.
