La prevalencia de anticuerpos contra el virus de la enfermedad de Newcastle NCDV entre las aves silvestres del orden Columbiformes se evaluó durante un brote importante de enfermedad en poblaciones de pollos locales. Un total de 462 muestras de Baños de Boza (Distrito Aucallama, provincia de Huaral, Perú), incluyendo 86 palomas (Columba livia) y 367 tórtolas (Eupelia Cruziana), fueron estudiados mediante la técnica de inhibición de la hemaglutinación. Todas las aves analizadas tuvieron resultados negativos para anticuerpos contra el virus NCDV, indicando que no habían sido expuestos al virus y no podían, por ello, constituir al reservorio.Downloads
