It was estimated that, in middle and low income, by 2050, will live 80% of people older than 60. At present only one country, Japan, has more than 30% of its population older than 60 years, and by 2050 there will be many other countries with such a population, including Chile, China, Iran, Thailand and, chances are, Peru (possibility would be if the economy continues to accelerate and optimize life expectancy). These positive results are due to much of the population is changing your lifestyle, quitting smoking, less alcohol intake, healthier eating and exercise. Globally it is emphasized maintain active lifestyle to reduce the impact of obesity, cardiovascular disease, cancer, osteoporosis and diabetes in the elderly. However, a recent article indicates that persistent pain, impaired mobility and function and reduced quality of life and mental well-being are the most common experiences associated with musculoskeletal disorders, of which there are more than 150 types. The prevalence and impact of such musculoskeletal diseases increase with aging, deeply limit the ability of people to meet changes in lifestyle and exceed the capacity of service (3). Nevertheless, it is necessary to continue promoting measures of health, nutrition and exercise from an early age in order to prevent or delay the onset of clinical problems mentioned above and lines that occur with age.Downloads
