The present issue of Annals includes several articles related to the metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular risk, myocardial infarction; And a symposium on obesity, consisting of studies on obesity in the world and in Peru, related genetics, dyslipoproteinemia, cardiovascular risk, elderly, height and gestation in obese women. The introduction to the symposium, written by the nutritionist Dr. Jaime Pajuelo Ramírez, coordinator of the symposium, explicitly preludes the symposium themes elaborated by Peruvian researchers who are well versed in the subject.
