Frequency and sociodemographic characteristics of homicides in the Lambayeque region in 2017

La Oficina de las Naciones Unidas Contra la Droga y el Delito (UNODC) define al homi-cidio como «la muerte ilícita y voluntaria que una persona provoca en otra». Durante el 2017 el promedio mundial de homicidios fue de 6,1 por cada 100 mil habitantes (1). En Latinoamérica, específicamente en Colombia, la tasa estandarizada de mortalidad por ho-micidios en 2011 fue de 36,1 por 100 mil habitantes (2). Por su parte, en México, la tasa de homicidio durante el 2009 fue de 16,6 por 100 mil habitantes (3). En Perú, durante el 2018 los hechos delictivos dolosos registrados fueron 7,6 por 100 mil habitantes (4).
