Introducción: La belleza física ha hecho crecer el número anual de cirugías estéticas. Pero no toda la población tiene acceso a dichos procedimientos. Para aquellos desfavorecidos económica-culturalmente, la alternativa de inyección ilegal subcutánea es la silicona; que es un polímero del dimetilpolisiloxano, puede modificar su viscosidad desde líquidos inyectables hasta bloques sólidos. Objetivos: Describir un caso de embolia grasa pulmonar por silicona. Institución: DITANFOR, Instituto de Medicina Legal, Ministerio Público, Lima-Perú. Caso Clínico: Caso de embolia grasa, noviembre 2010. Cadáver masculino 23 años, con áreas de empastamiento en región glútealumbar. Laboratorio químico-toxicológico: fluidos oleosos de regiones glúteo-lumbares positivas para compuesto organosiliconado. Anatomopatológico: Pulmones con edema, congestión vascular, glóbulos de grasa en estructuras vasculares venosas (embolia grasa). Piel-tejido blando de regiones lumbar-glútea con infiltración de glóbulos de grasa. Resto de exámenes no contributorios.Downloads
