Introduction. In Latin America, the political and social situation in Venezuela generated, between 2015 and 2019, the displacement of about 3.8 million people. Peru has received thousands of immigrants from Venezuela, we do not know how the financial assurance of the Ministry of Health has responded to this situation. Objective. To describe the characteristics of foreign migrants in Peru affiliated to the Seguro Integral de Salud (SIS) in 2022. Methods. Secondary source cross-sectional study, based on SIS affiliates. We collected age, nationality, region of affiliation, and foreigner’s ID card. We reported absolute and relative frequencies; mean and standard deviation or median and interquartile range (IQR). Results. We included 838 148 records. At the two extreme observation points in 2022, i.e., January and December, the ages (RIC) were 31.3 (RIC: 12.9-49.7) and 31.9 (RIC: 12.9-50.9) years; 87.2% and 85.4% were Venezuelan; 78.68% and 77.9% were from the Lima/Callao region; and 69.7% and 73.7% had a foreigner’s ID card. Conclusion. Foreign affiliates to the SIS were young Venezuelans, mostly from the Lima/Callao region, who had a foreigner’s ID card.
