Método de Cultivo Superpuesto para la Bartonella Bacilliformes

Objetivo fundamental de esta nueva técnica es incrementar, en la mayor escala posible, el cultivo de la Barlonella bacilliformis (1) con el fin de producir apreciables cantidades de desarrollo y obtener antígenos en cantidades adecuadas que permitan llevar a cabo estudios inmunoserolócicos en la Enfermedad de Carrión. Fueron Noguchi y Battistini quienes, en 1926 (2), cultivan por primera vez a la B. bacilliformis en el medio que ellos venían empleando para la Leptospira ictero hemorrágica, medio que se conoce como "medio leptospira". En 1929, se señala a los medios corrientes como adecuados para el cultivo del microorganismo; Aldana (3) emplea con éxito el caldo infusión corriente para el cultivo de la sangre del enfermo verrucoso. Un nuevo medio fue estudiado y publicado por Geiman (4) en 1940, el medio puede ser líquido o sólido, pero, en todo caso, emplea la tryptona en vez de las peptonas comunes, medios a los que agrega suero de conejo, glutation y ácido ascórbico. Para este autor, un medio así preparado resulta adecuado para producir antÍgenos para aglutinación.Downloads
