Abstract

Un caso de coexistencia de Síndrome de Cushing por hiperplasia cortisuprarrenal y Feocromocitoma medular, observado en el Hospital Obrero de Lima, motivó el presente trabajo y ello lo hicimos en base a que en nuestra literatura no existe ninguna publicación al respecto e incluso los temas sobre Síndrome de Cushing y Feocromocitoma separadamente son pocos. Desde 1932 que Cushing hiciera les primeras observaciones del síndrome que lleva su nombre y desde 1886 en que Fraenkel describiera por primera vez un tumor de médula suprarrenal, para el que Pick en 1912 sugirió el nombre de Feocromocitoma, las investigaciones y avances referentes a la etiopatogenia, diagnóstico y tratamiento de estas dos entidades es cada vez mayor y ello ha colaborado a que hoy en día sean diagnosticadas con mayor frecuencia, haciendo posible su inmediato tratamiento y evitando así graves consecuencias
