Abstract

In this paper we first made a brief review of anatomical and pathophysiological aspect of aortic stenosis and a general approach for diagnosis , location, grade and prognosis. A clinical classification is presented : with surgical purposes. Indications and contra- indications for the operation are needed . A historical review of attempts to surgical correction of the stenosis is made, and we detail and discuss the methods used to this end, with particular emphasis on the method under direct vision with hypothermia. The clinical and surgical records of three cases of aortic stenosis studied in the Department of Cardiology, Hospital Loayza and operated in the same hospital by Dr. Marino Molina S. A review of the clinical symptomatology does occur, the operative report , immediate post- operative course and mainly the long- term electrocardiographic and radiographic study.
