Abstract

This paper presents some of the data obtained during the past three years in the "Peru Project" supported by the Institute of Orthritis and Metabolic Diseases of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and some charity hospitals in Lima. The project main objective has been to evaluate the effectiveness of the solutions has been primarily to assess the effectiveness of saline administered in large quantities mainly orally, as an emergency treatment of shock in burns.
