Abstract

A review of the literature on heart tumours. An anatomo-pathologic study of too cases of heart neoplasm. In case N° 1, without clinical observations, the author found multiple cutaneous tumours, a tumour in the cerebellum, and at the base of the heart, a voluminous tumorous mass. entering the epicardium and encircling the aorta and the pulmonary artery. 800 c.c. of a bloody exudate, were found in the pericardium. Basing his deductions on the study of histology, the author assumes the various tumorous localizations, to be a neuro-sarcomatose transformation of tumours which were initially merely of a neuro-fibromatose nature. Case N° 2 concerns a tube adeno-carcinoma of the kidney, with multiple metastasis in the skin, lungs, liver, peritoneum, and heart. In the last named organ, the metastatic nodules, occurred in the interauricular and interventricular septa, as well as in the walls of both ventricles. No symptoms of any cardiovascular trouble are indicated in the clinical history of this case.
