Una revista científica arbitrada e indexada es aquella que se encuentra en un catálogo de indexación y que cumple con ciertos estándares de calidad para su publicación, como el formato uniforme de los artículos, la definición de las políticas editoriales, el proceso de revisión por pares académicos, la accesibilidad de sus contenidos en una página web, el impacto de sus publicaciones cuantificado por el número de citaciones, etc. La Revista de Investigación de Física ha sido calificada en el catálogo de Latindex 2.0.
