Abstract

This study focused on a numerical simulation to describe projectile trajectories in two key scenarios: motion in free space and motion in the presence of drag forces. A simplified projectile model was used, represented as a sphere with radius r and mass m. The simulation was based on the Euler-Richardson method to calculate positions over time. The results of the study highlight that the differences in horizontal and vertical ranges are closely linked to the size and mass of the projectile. Additionally, the shape and size of the projectile was shown to influence the magnitude of air resistance, which affects the overall trajectory. This approach provides a practical understanding of how the drag force affects projectile motion.
