The poetry of Alejandro Peralta is considered one of the highest values of the Andean avant-garde. As the founder of the Titikaka Bulletin (1926 -1930) together with Gamaliel Churata, and a member of the Orkopata group, his presence contributed significantly to promoting the intellectual panorama of southern Peru in the 1920s. From the starting point of the aspect of transculturation manifested by the critics of his work, our study attempts to analyze the features of the expressionist avant-garde present in Ande (1926) to verify the influence of a notorious Western front in the Andean framework of his lyrics. The recurrence in expressions that evoke the exaltation of subjectivity, the violence of the Andean landscape, and the grotesque in Peralta's poetry books develop close points of contact with the German avant-garde of great importance for its full understanding.
