Abstract

This article provides a definition and a periodization of Afro-Hispanic American literature, key field in the construction of multiple and heterogeneous culture of Hispanic America arises. Periodization ranges from the sixteenth century to today and presented as variables: the rhetorics of (self) representation of African descent and figures of author and reader.
