Abstract

Implement a proposed model of Design Thinking, that was the main objective of the research. Which was applied in  technological institutes for students to improve their learning in information technology courses, considering as indicators the cognitive processes that students experienced, collaborative work, and strategic capacity in each project. The proposed model consisted of 4 phases, empathizing and investigating, defining and expanding the concept of critical thinking, prototyping, and the last phase of Reflection. The sample was 100 students of the technological institutes of the specialty "Development of Information Systems", to whom a survey was applied and follow-up was done in the creation of their projects, verifying that they used the phases of the Design Thinking model proposed. The conclusions that were obtained were that Design Thinking improves the teaching-learning process, improves the way of thinking (cognitive processes) generating new solution ideas in each project, and at the same time improving collaborative work and the way of defining group strategies in order to propose the best solution to each case developed by the students.
