Nicolás Lynch es un destacado sociólogo y político peruano, ensayista, poeta y escritor de numerosos artículos académicos y libros. En esta ocasión nos presenta su obra Cholificación, república y democracia. El destino negado del Perú. Libro en el cual nos acerca a una relación entre proyecto político e historia, apoyando su narrativa crítica en el ensayo político. Este texto es parte de una saga de libros —entre los que se puede distinguir El argumento democrático sobre América Latina (2009), Política y antipolítica en el Perú (2000) y Una tragedia sin héroes (1999)— en los que se plasma la frustración democrática en la que nos vemos envueltos.
