This work aims to study the verse called polyrhythm from the reflections and practice developed by Manuel González Prada and Juan Parra del Riego. This practice, in addition, becomes a proposal for alternative verse in the process of formation of the practice of free verse in Peru; thus, both poets adhere to the polyrhythm with full awareness of what its use implies. The theoretical framework on which this work is based is based on Oldrich Belic's modern versology approaches and a descriptive and functional methodology. To achieve the purpose of the work, it is divided into an introduction and two sections. In the first, the ideology of the polyrhythm is studied in the two poet and in the second, a poem by each author is examined to identify their similarities and differences.
