Reflections on empathy, ethics and recognition of the person

In the following lines, reflections are presented on the relationship between empathy and ethics and its influence on the recognition of the human being as a person with the capacity to build the political community, ideas that are part of a larger work that is being developed in research to opt for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the Postgraduate Unit of the Faculty of Letters of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. This article reflects on the relationship between empathy and ethics considering the self and the other. Reflections that will allow us to establish a relationship between the self and the other, recognizing ourselves as persons, equals and with the capacity to build the political community. Empathy is taken from the ability to put oneself in the other’s perspective and from ethics the duty to worry and care for oneself and others.
