The following work examines the principles of Paulo Freire’s critical pedagogy since the author considers that its application can be beneficial both for the current educational situation in Peru and for liberation. Furthermore, the Freirian proposal will be analyzed comparatively with respect to Salazar Bondy’s proposal within the framework of the Peruvian educational reform of 1970, given that it constituted a significant attempt to improve education in the country with a philosophical foundation.
