Abstract

The role of the Chair refers to: a) pre-professional education. This is to provide students who are to be doctors, basic knowledge of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, in the clinical and social order, according to universal knowledge and the national reality. b) Encouraging research on pathogenesis, clinical, therapeutic and epidemiology; in order to confront the results of other schools and provide national contributions to the general knowledge of the specialty. c) Maintaining relationships with graduates, offering the opportunity to update their knowledge of general practitioners and specialists preparing systematizing quality and proportion requiring the country's needs. The role of the Chair is not based on dogmatic assertion of individual ideas but in coordinating the studies and plans to work through the criteria of all the members that make up (currently at number fifteen). In the evolution of their programs, to the extent of their field, in their current resources (Hospital- No.1 Sanatorium, Hospital Service Hospital May 2. Dispensaries Tuberculosis Division, Ministry of Health and Welfare) and at the research Institute recently opened, are the physical basis of the progressive development of Lectures on work and research.
