Abstract

Although therapeutic abortion (AT) is approved by law in Peru since 1924 (1), has only recently from the Ministry of Health (June 2014) it approved the National Guidelines for Voluntary Termination of Pregnancy for Reasons Therapeutic (2). However, Peruvian women still do not have adequate access to services in public hospitals. This deficiency is largely responsible for the indirect causes of maternal deaths occur with increasing frequency (3). The health professionals of public establishments providing sexual and reproductive health information and lack sufficient stigma still maintain against women that pregnancy is interrupted and against professionals who care, because missing even standardize care, for safety of women and professionals.
