Acid fruit juices and some plants could have bactericidal action on enteropathogen bacteria. We studied in vitro action of 16 fruit juices and 8 plants infusions on the following enteropathogen bacteria: enterohemorrhagic E. coli, enteroinvasive E. coli, enteropathogen E. coli, Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella thphi, Shigella flexneri, Yersinia enterocolitis, Aeromonas, Plesionomas, Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio parahaemolyticum and Staphylococcus aureus. Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Aeromonas were very susceptible to acid fruit juieces. The other bacteria tolerated fruit juices in variable degrees. Among plants, garlic suspension and tara infusion had the best action on all bacteria studied.Downloads
