Abstract

This paper aims at expounding important features in the teaching of Spanish at University level. It is necessary to distinguish between Linguistics-oriented teaching approaches from practical-oriented ones (writing and oral expression). Moreover, the influence of popular and young people's forms of speech is to be taken into account, assuming that we are not supposed to shut them outrather we should identify those contexts of conversational interplay in which their use is appropriate.
