Abstract

The poetry of Hildebrando Pérez Grande builds a vision and a language whose remarkable wealth lies in the appropriation of an idea of resistance. Based on this idea it unfolds, on the one hand, a social conscience, source of passions and expectations aimed at the Andean collective imagination which it seeks to raise in their most beautiful realizations: women, music and nature. And on the other hand, it displays a consciousness about the word itself, with the fervent conviction to stir and invigorate it and, above all, essentialize it, to renew, in turn, the inner man. In this paper we explore these two forms of resistance, assuming them as two fundamental principles within the poetry of Pérez.
