Abstract

The aim of this article is to show the areas of use of anglicisms by young students from San Marcos University. For this purpose we measured the number of speakers who use anglicisms against those who use Spanish equivalents. The study population was made up of students from San Marcos University. The representative sample included a total of 44 students from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Surveys including closed-ended questions, as well as open interviews were used as instruments. The results reveal the use of anglicisms not only at the lexical, but also at the syntactical levels, which have given rise to the formation of sentences with varying degrees of English interference.
