Abstract

This research validated the hypothesis of a negative and sensationalist treatment in the construction of the image of women in the print media of Lima. It describes and analyzes a feminine image contrary to international conventions which recognize women’s rights in the social, educational, economic order, work setting and, in general, as human beings. This study demonstrates the journalistic and media treatment which reinforces an undesirable public opinion. The purpose is that the media and journalists become aware of the problem, have a better specialization and inform thoroughly, with accuracy and respect.
