Gonzalo Rojas is one of the most original poets of Latin America. The dissemination of his texts, and the awards obtained, make him familiar to readers of the Hispanic world. Less known is the fact that Rojas was a university professor of literature, a conference organizer and a person who reflected on his own poems about the relationship between poetry and literary theory. In addition, he was a tenacious opponent to those who, out of an intellectual vanity, try to give lessons to the creators and readers who choose different paths from theirs. This paper describes some of the most varied positions of Rojas on the complex place of poetry in the literary circuit and the importance Rojas give to poets such as César Vallejo and Ezra Pound.Downloads
