ORAL TALES AND VOCABULARY IN THE ASHANINKA LANGUAGE OF THE PERENÉ REGION

Having as reference the Ashaninka oral literature, we evaluate the lexical features of the variety of Spanish of this part of the region. We analyze the morphological and semantic characteristics of the vocabulary most frequently used. This shows transfer characteristics from the native language and a marked influence of Quechua and the Andean Spanish. For this purpose, we compare the production of oral tales by Amazonian bilingual Indians with the data obtained in the book of Luis Hernán Ramírez, El español amazónico hablado en el Perú (2003) (The Amazonian Spanish spoken in Peru); in Ashaninkas dictionaries, namely, the Asheninka / Ashaninka Dictionary of the Ministry of Education, compiled by Heise, D. Payne, J. Payne and Vílchez (2000); the Ashaninka Dictionary compiled by Lee Kindberg (1980-ILV); and the DRAE, 2010 edition.
