Abstract

This article explains the use of the sestina, a medieval strophic form in the book Sestinas and other poems by Carlos Germán Belli. After a description of the art of scanning the sestina and plotting a brief tour of this versal form, we describe some expert uses achieved by Belli in his poetic work shown in this book. Finally, we give an example of the accomplished execution of the rigors of the sestina in a text by the poet and we highlight its love resonances.
