Abstract

This study aimed at improving reading comprehension levels through the implementation of an intervention program. In order to achieve this it was necessary to start from the different voices that show up in the discourse, and recognize the formal aspect of textual schemes in the academic field. The overall results were significant, especially in identifying discourse genres. However, it also discloses that the difficulty persists in identifying the different voices of the discourse, the expository outlines, the thrust and the main ideas of a text.
