Abstract

The different dominant ideological thoughts such as the Age of Enlightenment and the modern philosophical thought built the subordinate representation of women to prevail over social and political domains. In this article, we study the written discourses by Peruvian women and men of the nineteenth century who tried to build a picture of the female subject in society. It is concluded that these written practices sought a demand for equality and respect for women in public and private spheres.
