This article shows the problematic nature of qualia for a theory of mind. With the term ‘qualia’ we refer to the unintentional aspects of mental states especially qualitative such as perceptual experiences, emotions, moods and bodily sensations. These unintended aspects are often characterized as intrinsic, ineffable, infallible, atomic, private, direct and physically irreducible. It also explains the argument of absent qualia as a critique of functionalism on the mental.Downloads
