Abstract

Towards the end of 2020, various social and political conflicts arose in the midst of one of the world's largest pandemics, which continues to deepen a general crisis. For example, demonstrations took place in mid-November against the presidential inauguration of Manuel Merino, which led to his resignation. Two people died and several were arrested. Two weeks later, in December, the Dircote carried out "Operation Olimpo", in which various people (students, workers and retirees) were arrested, accused of belonging to terrorist groups. Today, many are still imprisoned without conclusive evidence. That same month, in Ica, agricultural workers mobilized to demand better working conditions, because -as they denounced- they were working in very poor conditions. Two people died, several were injured and more were arrested. In this "survival scenario", Germán Patrón's El proceso Vallejo, a book that exposes the accusation, capture, liberation, persecution and vindication of César Abraham Vallejo Mendoza (1892-1938), the greatest Peruvian poet, was republished.
