This article will discuss the metaphor of love in a poem of La tortuga ecuestre by César Moro. Our research hypothesis suggests that the execution of this metaphor generates a series of events: emergence of love, conversion of functions of lovers, destruction of the reference and the sentimental union never seen before. To support the above, our theoretical framework will take Jacques Lacan's psychoanalytic concepts. The analysis tool will be hermeneutics.
