This research is focused on analyzing the representation of the city of Lima and the mortuary atmosphere that is recreated in it, in Cuán impunemente se está uno muerto by Wáshington Delgado. Our hypothesis states that this mortuary atmosphere affects both the representation of the people and the urban place itself. Likewise, we consider that the purpose of this representation of the city is to question the political projects that have been raised since its foundation. Additionally, this article will address how the capital becomes a place of inscription for a social poetry that questions and criticizes its surroundings. Our research is based on the principles of General Textual Rhetoric. Finally, we have used the typology of metaphors developed by Lakoff and Johnson to study how Lima conceptualized.
