Abstract

Paul Horwich's minimalism is the theory that claims to be the most epistemological within deflationism. Its creator presents it as the last word on the concept of truth, declaring a more detailed and in-depth study on the subject impossible, relying on the well-known equivalence scheme, whose origins can be traced in the seminal writings of Alfred Tarski. However, taking the explanatory power of Paul Horwich's minimal theory to its extremes, it is practically nil. Although his theory of truth may be justified, his semantics cannot stand.
